Prepare your evidence

A clearer route through attestation.

Start with the document type and the receiving institution’s requirements. Recognition, attestation and an apostille serve different purposes.

1. School qualifications.

For Matric and Intermediate certificates, begin with the issuing board’s verification instructions. IBCC handles school-level attestation and equivalence. Follow its document checklist rather than assuming the university-degree process applies.

2. University qualifications.

Use HEC’s official e-services to check the current degree-attestation procedure, document uploads, payment requirements and service method. If a foreign qualification needs recognition in Pakistan, investigate HEC equivalence separately.

Match your name and qualification details across your CNIC, passport, degree and transcript. Resolve discrepancies with the issuing authority before submission.

3. Foreign-affairs authentication.

After the relevant issuing or education authority has verified the document, check MOFA’s instructions for apostille or legalization. The correct route depends on the destination and how the document will be used.

Confirm before paying.

Fees and service arrangements can change. Read the current official instructions, verify the payment destination, and retain the receipt. A third party cannot replace a required verification step.
